அடையா இலக்கை அடைவதற்கு!

நீட்டோலை வாசியா நின்றவரை,
ஏட்டோடு பள்ளிக்கு வரச்செய்தார்!
படிப்பின்றி வீட்டோடு இருந்தோர்,
பள்ளியில் சேர்ந்து புள்ளியாயினர்.

பட்டறிவில்லா எம் போன்றோரை,
பட்டை தீட்டி மதிப் பேற்றினார்!
அறிவுரைகளால் அதட்டி என்னை
முதுகலையை அடைய வைத்தார்!

ஆசிரியப் பணி வாய்ப்பு தந்தார்;
ஆசீர்வதித்தார்; தலைமையாசிரியர்
பதவி நெருங்கும் வரை அவர்
அன்பில் எம்முயர்வு இருந்தது!

பரவட்டும் தாளாளர் புகழொளி
பாரெல்லாம்! வல்ல இறைவன்,
புவனப் பதவி பல தந்தவருக்கு
சுவனப் பதவியை வழங்கட்டும்!
